Full course description
This self-paced course will serve as a special topics seminar exploring how artificial intelligence and machine learning are changing the worlds of wealth management and financial planning. Students will develop an understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, the proliferation of those technologies within FinTech tools, and financial planning practices. Students will engage with financial advisers and wealth managers in the classroom. Upon completing the course, students will be fluid interfacing with Artificial Intelligence tools and be able to leverage knowledge about those tools on the job market and with future clients and consumers.
Zoom lectures will take place on Tuesdays from 6-6:50 pm, beginning on August 22nd through December 6th. Recordings will be made available on the course site following the lecture.
Learning objectives include:
- Differentiate between traditional online search tools and artificial intelligence/machine-learning-driven tools.
- Describe artificial intelligence and machine learning in the context of wealth management and financial planning.
- Develop a model client service practice that incorporates AI.
- Create, analyze, and criticize financial planning documents, estate planning documents, and investment portfolios utilizing AI tools.
