Summary

AT in Illinois EI: A Review of Policies and Procedures closely examines policies and procedures as they relate to Assistive Technology in the Illinois Early Intervention Services System. Included will be a review of items covered for funding through Illinois EI AT, an examination of the process and procedures of obtaining AT, and a review of the responsibilities of team members in relation to AT. This training is a required prerequisite to a follow-up face to face training that focuses on AT evaluation and implementation.

Objectives

Upon completion of this training, learners will be able to:

  • Understand definitions related to Assistive Technology.
  • Recall policies relevant to Assistive Technology in the Illinois Early Intervention system.
  • Recall procedures relevant to Assistive Technology in the Illinois Early Intervention system.
  • Understand team member responsibilities and common points of confusion in regards to Assistive Technology in the Illinois Early Intervention system.

Credit Hours

This event is approved for Early Intervention Contact Hours and State Licensure hours for Dietitian/Nutritionist (D/N), Counselor (LCPC), Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Social Work (SW), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
