Summary

Infant Development: Alignment, Core, and Motor (IDACM) provides information concerning typical motor development at 1, 2, 3, and 4 months of age. Typical expectations for babies in relation to specific areas of the body, head, trunk, upper extremities, and lower extremities are examined across 5 different positions. Development goals regarding these body positions are also examined in depth.

Objectives

Upon completion of this training, learners will be able to:

  • Learn typical motor development at 1, 2, 3, and 4 months of age.
  • Recognize how to assess a baby's motor development in 5 different positions.
  • Understand the contributions of the head, trunk, pelvic alignment, and core control.
  • Discover tips to help you complete your assessment.
  • Learn general warning signs of atypical childhood development.

Credit Hours

This event is approved for Early Intervention Contact Hours and State Licensure hours for Dietitian/Nutritionist (D/N), Counselor (LCPC), Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Social Work (SW), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
