Full course description
Summary
Online Systems Overview a comprehensive overview of the Illinois Early Intervention System presented in approximately 30-35 modules, divided into 5 sections with a quiz after each section. Topics presented include:
- The Illinois System at a glance, including Federal & State law and policy, Key Stakeholders, and Service Delivery
- Assessment and eligibility determination including Family Rights and Procedural Safeguards
- IFSP Development including Child and Family Outcomes
- Processes for Billing Insurance including Family Fees and Fee Waivers
- The Transition Process
Online learners can expect to take 8-12 hours to complete all training modules, successfully pass all quizzes, and complete the training evaluation at the end of the course in order to access a Certificate of Completion.
With the exception of Child and Family Connections' Service Coordinators and bilingual interpreters and translators, who are required to take separate trainings, this online training is required for all providers seeking a credential in Illinois Early Intervention.

Objectives
Upon completion of this training, learners will be able to:
- Understand Federal & State law and policy, Key Stakeholders, and Service Delivery in the Illinois Early Intervention System
- Recall assessment and eligibility determinations including Family Rights and Procedural Safeguards.
- Understand IFSP Development including Child and Family Outcomes.
- Understand processes for Billing Insurance including Family Fees and Fee Waivers.
- Understand the Transition Process for families exiting or who are no longer eligible for service in the Illinois Early Intervention System.
Credit Hours
This event is Part 1 of a two-part training. No additional early intervention credit is awarded.
Part 2: Systems Overview Follow Up
The "Online System Overview Follow-Up Session" (SOFU) is a one-day, live training requiring separate registration. As its name implies, it is a Follow-Up to the information presented in Part 1 and includes interactive group discussion and activities. The SOFU is offered several times over the course of a year and at least once each month. CLICK HERE for our current SOFU opportunities.
SOFU must be completed within 12 months of completing the Online Training Modules and are valid for 3 years prior to submitting your Illinois Early Intervention credential application.
