Objectives

Upon completion of this training, learners will be able to:

  • Define tummy time and explain it's importance to families
  • Understand how tummy time impacts a child's milestones and progressions
  • Identify factors whcih have contributed to a lack of tummy time
  • Recognize what tummy time abilities should look like by age
  • Understand how tummy time helps prevent certain medical conditions
  • Apply different techniques to strengthen a baby's muscles to make Tummy Time easier.
  • Determine the best toys and games for Tummy Time, including how to use them.
  • Identify new ways to add Tummy Time into the child's daily routines.
  • Know how to get help if you continue to have Tummy Time questions and concerns.

Credit Hours

This event is approved for Early Intervention Contact Hours and State Licensure hours for Dietitian/Nutritionist (D/N), Counselor (LCPC), Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Social Work (SW), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
